Top excuses people give for not working their business and my response to them:
1. I don't have time!
Allow me to introduce you to my sweet friend, Laurie who is a mother of FIVE including TWO SETS OF TWINS! And did I mention she HOMESCHOOLS her kiddos? Yep. And she is a double diamond. You make time and sacrifices when something is important to you!
2. I don't have the money!
I am not so far removed that I forget $99 is a lot of money. And $80-100 a month is a lot for product when you can barely pay the bills. But I have story after story of men and women who work their tail off to sell that product they get for their autoship and they had to scrimp and save to get their autoship for the first month or two. It is only difficult to afford if you are not working and selling product. I will agree that autoships that sit on the counter in an unopened box are expensive!
3. I don't know enough about the product to feel confident selling it!
This one is easy. Do your training. Use the product. Then do your training again! Keep it simple and be honest when you don't know the answer.
4. Everyone has already heard about the product.
Keep talking until you find people who haven't! If the five people you told in the beginning were already customers or distributors, that should tell you that you started a great business! Keep talking! I meet people every day who have never heard of the product!
5. My family isn't supportive.
Having a family/husband/wife/parent who supports your business is a plus, but it does not guarantee your success. Surround yourself with people who want you to do well. Shake off the negativity. You have started an incredible business that will take you places you only dreamed but you have to keep working toward that goal. Wave bye to those on the sidelines while you run past them!
6. My whole team quit!
Are you going to join them? Are you going to be the leg that quits on your upline? Or are you going to continue to build? If you will keep working until you find two workers you can go double diamond. Scouts honor. Most people just don't believe me and give up before they find their two rockstars.
7. My upline quit or isn't supportive!
I would encourage you to find the upline above them! We have some incredible leaders in this company! Your success is not determined by your uplines support or availability. It is a plus, but it is not the most important thing to your business.
8. I am not skinny and I feel weird selling skinny wraps!
Start calling them the Ultimate Body Applicator if it makes you feel better! Let your friends and family know you are on a journey and these products are amazing. Be a product of the product. Your body will change if you use these products regularly!
9. I have tapped out my friends/family resource. There is no one left to talk to about this product.
It's time to start blitzing. Time to start reaching out to different networks and those not directly in the ten people you talk to every day. Time to think about who you want in your business and why and they how you are going to approach them. Time to get creative with your marketing strategies. Time to think outside the box.
10. I am not good at selling things.
Neither am I! I share things. I love sharing my favorite make-up, hair stylist, clothing boutiques and restaurants. When you take the pressure off yourself to sell things you will find that you are amazing at this business. Be personable. Ask people, "have you heard of this product?" as you give them a card. Listen to what is going on in the lives of those around you. Our product line covers just about everything someone could want. Look better? We've got it. Feel better? We've got it? Lose weight? We've got it. Change your approach from feeling like you have to sell something and start sharing. It will change your business.
If you have an excuse in this business, chances are there will be an answer for it. Ultimately, you are in charge of realizing that there will always be someone out there who has even more excuses than you do and they are still climbing their way to Ambassador. When you move the excuses out of the way and simply say, "I am going to find a way to succeed," then you will be successful. If what you are doing is not working, own it, and then look to others who are successful. I am proud of this team, where we have been and where we are headed. Let's not be the team who makes excuses. Let's push past them!
